When Sweaters Go Rogue

Behold, my Shifty Sweater has a yoke!

But with the yoke comes... a couple of issues.  Completely self-inflicted, as usual.  I knew my gauge was off, but I didn't want it to be quite as dense as the sweater sample on the correct gauge - I decided to stick with the gauge of my Shift Cowl.  Not surprisingly, that has led to some... mathematical opportunities.  As in, I discovered I had done the increases pretty much wrong, but it also pretty much fit, so...???

I spent the morning at a bakery figuring out what I was going to do to make all it work.  And I *think* I have it figured out.  Hopefully.  Probably.  We'll see.  Here's the story of as told through my Instagram story.

And lastly, here I am putting in a life line so I can rip back a couple of rows and add the (hopefully) final increases. (I wouldn't always do this, but this stitch pattern kind of wants to run away, so this seemed like the safest option.)  Fingers crossed!
