Confession: I'm not always the most diligent swatcher. Unless it seems like something where size is realllly crucial, I kind of don't do it. (which can lead to some mishaps. For example: How Not to Block a Sweater.)
But, lately I've been overrun with crochet ideas. Some stitch patterns that look different than what I'm used to. They look like cables, or knit stitches, or their own peculiar thing, and I am pretty convinced they are telling me to make them into things. But first - I need to really get a feel for what they look like, and how they feel, and how I might want to change them up a little. And so - I have embarked on the Great Swatch Experiment of 2019. I have made soooo many crochet swatches - and a few big stitch samplers - and then labeled them in very fastidious fashion, and taken notes in Google Docs, and generally been not at all like my usual freewheeling knitter self. I'm having a great time, and the sense of discovery is a little intoxicating. Do you have any particular stitches I should know about? Crochet designers I should follow? Other Big Ideas?
