My Shifty Sweater is rolling along - body finished, time for the sleeves. However, as I mentioned on Instagram last night, sleeves can be kind of anti-climactic. And a pain in the ass to actually knit. But eureka! Today a friend reminded me that I could get both sleeves started, and then knit them both at the same time on two needles (or magic loop, but I prefer two circular needles.)
Revolutionary! And weird that it hadn't occurred to me. I always knit two at a time for bottom-up sweaters, but since this is top down, and it's a giant pain (in my experience) to try to knit two at a time when the sleeves are still close to the body, I kind of just spaced that I could knit each sleeve down a couple of inches, and then put them on two circulars and go on my merry way. So that's what I'm planning on doing. One sleeve is already about 8" long, so I'll catch up with the other sleeve and then off they'll go together. Yes, this is slightly funny, but honestly, it's whatever it takes to keep it entertaining, right?
