Peer Pressure is Powerful: Shawl Edition
At some point this year I realized that everyone with a knitting needle or a crochet hook seemed to have spent the prior 6 months making shawls - except me. I've made about 50 cowls, but no shawls. I dunno why - just hadn't caught the bug. Until now. (Don't judge, peer pressure is powerful.)
I've had this La Bien Aimee yarn for a while - and tried to make a Shifty out of it but it was entirely the wrong thing. This yarn is wonderful, a Shifty is wonderful, but not so much together. So I bided my time, and finally I found what I think it wants to be. A Suncatcher Shawl by Elena Fedotova.
This is the biggest crochet project I've done in a while, and it's fun. If you don't mind using a Lot of yarn (such is the nature of crochet), it's fun to see fast progress, and this pattern is pretty easy to memorize.
I'm doing the color shifts to match the yarn I have, and I'm about to start on the third color. I'll report back with the finished product, but so far so good.
