Morning River Walk
[This is part of the ongoing accounting of my weekly-ish searches for fun, thanks to the recommendations of Julia Cameron in The Artist's Way. For all of my weekly excursion posts, click here.]
It has been way too long since I went on an aimless wander - just to see what's going on, and let the creative well fill up a bit, and basically enjoy myself for no other reason than the fun of it. This morning I rectified that situation. I started up the Blue Ridge Parkway, which always my go-to happy place, but it was foggy and also had some sketchy people hanging out at the overlooks, so I kept moving and ended up at the French Broad River. The river was also foggy, but what's a problem when looking off a mountain is beautiful when looking at a river. Mission accomplished - fun aimless morning, zero purpose, lots of daydreaming.
