Let's Have Some Fun Out There Today
I've been selling a lot of DIY kits lately, and I was thinking about why. I mean, aside from the obvious, that people want to make resin jewelry. But - why, do people want to do it? And I think it's the sense of possibility and fun.
Sure, some of the people are going to get great at making resin jewelry, but on a deeper level I think it's the invitation to fun. To the idea that there's value in exploring things and just seeing what happens, and making a little mess, and embracing that it won't be perfect. Every time I do that, without too much expectation, something interesting happens. And often it isn't what I thought was going to happen - my current project may only be the first step in a 16-step exploration that leads somewhere totally different from where I thought I was going. But the willingness to take the first step, and allow myself to play like a kid - I think that's where the magic happens. So let's all find some fun out there today, in whatever form it shows up.
