Hi Friends, it’s been a while! At first that was because everything was upside down as we adjusted to all of the upheaval this spring, but then, to be honest, it was because I was enjoying settling into a new normal. A normal that was way more focused on the micro - my family, our farm, what I was doing at any given moment. With the extra time for reflection, it turns out that I’m ready for other changes too. After taking a good look at what I do on the daily, and how I want to spend that time going forward, I’ve decided it’s time to evolve. With that in mind, this fall is going to be the last season I’ll be making jewelry in my studio. I have loved this fine craft, but as with most things, this has been amazing for a season of my life, and that season is changing. There are lots of reasons why - probably primarily because our family is already in the midst of evolution with Sam leaving for college, and so it feels like a great time to take stock. I’m going to be making jewelry through the holiday season (although no guarantees on how long individual pieces will be available - I’m basically going to be making up all of my available flowers, resin and molds, so I would expect some pieces to go out of stock before others.) I’m going to have one last show, and I would love for you to join me in celebration of Spotted Dog Farm and all of the fun we’ve had with this jewelry over the years. My friends at Black Mountain Shop are hosting a Virtual Indie Extravaganza, and I’m so honored to be a part of it.
On October 31 all of these amazing indie crafters and artists will be selling their wares online, and also will have an hour to highlight part of their business. For my hour (at 3:30) I’ll be on Instagram Live doing a demo of my DIY Resin Jewelry Kit. If you’ve ever wanted to make resin jewelry yourself, I’ll walk you through every aspect of it, and will be happy to answer your questions as well.
Thanks so much for supporting Spotted Dog Fam over these past many years - I so appreciate the friends and connections I’ve made, and have been honored every time you’ve supported my work. I’m still be around - especially with my knitting and on Instagram - so I look forward to sharing many happy times with you in the future.
