He Never Really Liked That Burning Bush

The fall color is coming.  This big tree in the pasture by the house is my favorite every year.  And the burning bush in the corner below it.  We gave that burning bush to my dad the day before we got married - the ceremony was here on the farm, and we gave him the burning bush to commemorate it.  He then informed us that he never really liked burning bushes, but he did like the idea of commemorating our marriage so he'd plant it.  That was 100% my dad - you never had to guess what he was thinking.   That story makes us laugh every time we think of it, and the burning bush remains one of my favorites.

Also, if you're wondering why so many of my farm pictures are from this angle, it's because this is my view when I'm sitting at the picnic deck planning my day in the mornings.  One of my favorites.
