Evolution

I've been reading a bit lately.  (Well, I'm always reading, but my taste usually runs towards frothy fun fiction and I devour those like candy, but lately I've also been adding some substance into the mix.)

One book recommended by a friend:  Executive Toughness.  I think this title is kind of a misnomer, in that you in no way need to be an Executive or have aspirations thereof to benefit from this book.  It's more of a "figure out what you want and make a concrete plan on how to get there" kind of book.  Count me in.

It's timely in that I'm taking a look at my business and figuring out what I want the future to look like.  I think that's always useful, but I'm also at a point where I feel evolution on the horizon.

Evolution is clearly high on my list (in fact, when I once had to list my business core values they included evolution, possibility and fun.)

I'm grateful evolution is an option, because I'm patently not great at doing the same thing forever:  lawyer, to stay at home mom, to custom knitwear maker, to flower farmer, to jewelry maker.

So the jewelry isn't going anywhere - I love it.  But  I have pared down my offerings to make a little space to explore new things. New directions are exciting, and life-giving, and also a good time to make a plan and figure out how to execute - hence putting some weightier books back into the mix.  If you too are evolving (or considering it), and want someone to celebrate (or commiserate the parts that are scary), drop me a line. We're all in this together, and community builds confidence.
