This morning I headed for the Blue Ridge Parkway and turned North. First stop: Craggy Gardens. This overlook is overflowing with people in the summer, but on a random Thursday morning in April I had it all to myself, and it was glorious.
After admiring Craggy for a bit I had an urge to keep going - so I did, and ended up at Mount Mitchell. Highest peak east of the Mississippi, and overall glorious reminder of the beauty of these mountains.
