As mentioned a few days ago, it was time for me to head back out for a wander. Not for any particular purpose - just to see what happened. So, as is my first inclination, I headed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It stays closed a fair bit in the winter because of road conditions, so I hadn't seen it in a while. It was, as usual, perfect. Not as green as spring, not as flashy as fall, but right there in all its majesty. I think what I like best is the feeling that you're on top of the world, with all of the possibility and lightness that implies. As I once explained to my husband when we were house hunting (and I kept insisting on a house with a lot sun) - I am a creature of the light. And there is nowhere you will find more of it than on top of these mountains.
